5 Reasons You Need To Hire A Coach Today

I have been in private practice since 2005 and am very blessed to be able to continue to offer full service therapy. However, I knew there was something bigger for me so when I started working with a business coach over two years ago, something magically started to happen. I got connected with a curriculum that brought simplicity, leverage and accountability into my life. This allowed me to be more focused than ever and create outcomes beyond what I expected in my practice and life.

If you are wondering why you should hire a coach, even if you already have a therapist, keep on reading.

  1. Define your purpose:

    I am finding that the core of many problems we are having is that we are not living to our potential. Each of us know that but we struggle to clearly have a defined sense of what we want to contribute in our lifetime. This can be through friends, family, work, volunteering, spirituality, etc. The more clear your purpose is, the more empowered you will be. The more empowered you are, the more you will accomplish. The more you accomplish, the more satisfied you will find life.
    Purpose= Satisfaction

  2. Define clear personal and professional values:

    This is the core of everything. If you are not clear on your values, then how do you find your purpose? How do you make decisions on a daily basis of what to do, who to engage with or what to invest your time, effort, energy or money in? I will help you create a list of values in which you can make your decisions from.

    These values are going to the be lens in which you see the world for that category ( Personal, Professional, Relationships, Money/Investment, etc). For example, one of my core values is wellness. When I am looking into investing my money into a business, buying shares in Monsanto, who creates chemicals and genetically altered foods, would be against my core values since they are a source of much controversy in the health and wellness category. I also have clear values of who I bring into my practice or who gets to become a client.

    When you have clear defined values, life gets really simple. Either it aligns with your core values or it doesn’t.You either engage with it or you don’t.  Having clear values= having more simplicity in your life.

  3. Create goals that will give you massive success:

    A research study of students in a class showed that 13 percent of the class who had goals, but did not write them down, earned twice the amount of the 84 percent who had no goals. The 3 percent who had written goals were earning, on average, 10 times as much as the other 97 percent of the class combined. This tells you that not only is it important to have goals, but you need to have them down on paper. Here is the caveat. You cannot just look at your goals a few times a year. These goals needs to be reviewed and updated on a daily basis. You need to start your day writing down your goals, even if you want accomplish it all right now. You don’t need a planner, just grab a legal pad or other notebook. I picked up a bunch of composition books for $1.00 each at the local dollar store. Repetition and habit rewires your brain. In order to move to the next level, massive action needs to start happening on a daily basis.
    Having clear goals and reviewing them daily= More consistent and bigger successes.

  4. Begin to focus on the life you really want to have:

    Once you have your purpose, values and goals set. You will start to see how you can focus clearly on the right priorities.Decisions will become easier, priorities will arise to the surface. You will start seeing the difference between a hobby and a career ( more on that in another article).  The quality of people around you will start to get better, your health will improve and you will have energy you never knew could exist for you.

    The Chinese philosopher Laozi wrote ” the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” Once you start to build momentum, it becomes difficult to stop. Would you rather have momentum on the life you prefer or the one you felt stuck with?
    Values+ Goals+Purpose= Momentum.

  5. Be held accountable:

    Although I am listing this last, I think this is one of the most important keys to success. When one defines their values and makes decisions based on that, then holds them self accountable to results, will create massive success in their life. Accountability is owning full responsible for your outcome. It also means having people in your life who hold you accountable to achieve your successes. I am part of two accountability groups a week. One focuses on my coaching and one focuses on my private practice and personal life. Saying you are committed to goals and being help accountable to them amongst others is an entirely different level.  Having an accountability group and even more so, a coach to hold you accountable, keeps you on rhythm to make sure you are staying in sync with what you are desire to create in your life and business. If you don’t get accountable ( to a personal and professional partner, to kids, to parents, to your bank account, your health, etc), then you may be talking a big game and doing no where near what you state that you are.

If you have been debating what coaching can do for you and want more simplicity, probability and leverage in your life, now is the time to reach out and schedule a consult with us. If you are ready to minimize your stressors and maximize your potential, then jump in, head first to have the best life possible.
