Make Your Family Vacation into a Family Retreat

If your family is like everyone else, hectic lifestyles and a list of responsibilities get in the way from connecting in a meaningful and deep way. Despite your best efforts, there is only 24 hours in a day and even less to spend with the people in our lives that are supposed to be our priority above everything else. This is even more true for business executives in leadership roles who have an even crazier schedule.

Every family looks forward to a vacation but how often are you really able to get away in a way that will not only soothe your need for relaxation but also bring deeper connection between your loved ones.

By making your next vacation into a Family/ Couples Retreat, you can have the best of both worlds. Jason Wasser, LMFT, Certified NET Practitioner and Certified Entrepreneurial Coach can help you tie all those loose ends together in as little as 2-4 hours a day in hand tailored workshops based on your needs.

As part of the planning, Jason will schedule a phone call with your family and then send all participating members some easy to complete assessments. This will allow us to tackle as much as possible during our time together on your vacation.

The following is just a sample of the many workshops that can help tackle your highest priorities while on 3-7 day vacations.

Wouldn’t it be great if- This retreat opening workshop focuses on creating a list of hopes and dreams that the individuals, couple and children desire to happen in their lives. Using a whiteboard with different color post it note, you create a personalized vision statement board that will be a reminder of where you want to head instead of where you have been stuck or no longer want. This will guide you throughout our time together and leave you with a basis of where to continue deeper work once you get home. 

5 Love Languages/Apology Languages- Each person will complete both questionnaires to have a better understanding of their love and apology languages so that they can share proactively with the other family members. We will draw out situation specific maps to help each person interact with the others in a more streamlined manner so that everyone’s needs can be met on a deeper level. 

Stop Using That Tone With Me: Understanding Body Language- This workshop teaches basic body language skills so you can understand what you are saying if you aren’t using your words. 

Not Your Typical Happy Hour- Participants will together pick one hour in the AM and one in the PM  that will be consistent throughout their vacation. They will commit to not using technology, social media , discussing work and refrain from any negative comments about themselves and others.

Making The 4 Agreements Work- Imagine if just 4 simple changes in your life could remove 80% of your issues!  Participants will go over the concepts of the book and make agreements on how they will apply it consistently to their life.

Letting Go Of Resentments  – Sometimes we get overwhelmed by our circumstances and frustrated by what we expected to happen versus what actually occurred in our lives. This discrepancy causes anger and resentment. Often we begin to blame others or blame ourselves. This retreat session invites you to “Let go of the wish that the past had been different” and to truly learn how to forgive yourself and love others. You will create a list of resentments starting from childhood to today to discover the underlying patterns that are holding you hostage today. You can then start to release resentments.

Children Can Have a Say Too- Many times children feel left out in aspects of family plans that they can actually be part of. Learn how everyone can contribute more to the family culture, goals and rituals.

Full Accountability- Every successful thought leader talks about how one must take full accountability for every aspect of their life.  This workshop follows the Letting Go of Resentments workshop and set the tone for a fully empowered experience. 

Asking The Right Way For What You Want- A crash course in communication skills that incorporates  the non-verbal communication/body language, the 5 Love/Apology Languages and Imago segments. 

Movement Activity: we strongly believe that movement is essential to your overall well-being. It’s not only beneficial for your physical body, it also helps you process your emotions more effectively. We highly recommend all of our clients engage in some type of physical activity every day, either on their own or as part of their retreat.

Identifying Triggers and Old Beliefs (Separately) – This session you’ll learn how to identify your old constricting and damaging belief patterns. These patterns continue to emerge and impact your way of thinking and acting. Many of these beliefs were formed early in childhood and have not been updated to a healthy adult viewpoint, which can be the root cause of a plethora problems. By looking at the these belief systems in your life, you will  learn to recognize your unconscious ways of dealing with problems. 

Values Based Decision Making Workshops (Family, Couple, Individual)– VBDM is the foundational principle that all proactive decision making should come from set values on the most important aspects of your life. This workshop will help you identity and create your personalized list of core values to make clear choices and actions steps for the rest of your life. 

Re-Negotiating Relationship Contracts  –We take our car in for oil changes every 3 months or 4,000 miles, whichever comes first but couples rarely look under the hood of their relationship. Regardless of how long you have been a couple, this workshop allows you to re-evaluate original “Contracts” that were spoken or even unspoken at the beginning of your relationship and update it given present life circumstances. Identify changing needs, expectations, intimacy, financial and time responsibilities and create a new plan of action to refresh your love life. 


Self Confidence and Personal Empowerment – Knowing you have skills and talents is very different than Owning that you have them. This session will help the participants identifying their uniqueness that can lead to long standing happiness and success. Learn how to shift personal  “issues” into “challenges”, overcome setbacks and learn how to embrace “failures” as part of resilience. 

FAST Stress Reduction Tools – Are you ready to become the Master of your life? This men’s retreat session will teach you a powerful set of techniques to break though old patterns and belief systems, alleviate stress and stay centered. The session includes tools which you can incorporate into your daily life to break through anxiety and depressive state of mind.
