As a therapist who has been in practice for over 10 years I always wondered if there was more effective ways of helping my clients reach their goals. Don’t get me wrong, the approaches that my practice takes has thankfully been successful and I have seen clients grow and change in ways that even surprised them.
However, its the time frame of 45 or 60 minute sessions that happen once or twice a week for months or even years that started to frustrate me. What is it that is holding all of us back from moving people through their stuck patterns and reaching their goals?
Over the past 3 years, I have discovered Neuro Emotional Technique or NET. This mind-body protocol has allowed me to tap into the core source of disconnect or blockages that the person carries and allows them to facilitate change in a much more rapid manner. By identifying the key emotions and story attached to it, we can help the individual not only change the relationship to the issue intellectually, but also help them change the physiological responses their body carries to it as well.
I have seen clients with panic attacks, chronic pain, inability to make a strong decisions as well as many others challenges eliminated in a quick as a few minutes and as long as a few sessions. Even though I know not everything can be solved that quickly, what I am trying to accomplish is removing any negative stress components around the issue so the mind-body can start to use its own innate resources and wisdom to heal itself/ accomplish what it needs to for the person to reach their goal.
So do I still practice traditional psycho-therapy? Of course. However, I tell each client it would be a huge gift to themselves to have at least one NET session to work on their goals to see what can come up that they would never think is related to their challenge and keeping them from their goals. Sometimes these stuck emotions/stories would not come up in traditional therapy for months if at all and NET allows me to fast track through this situation more efficiently.
